We won this one, Alberta! Grassy Mountain Coal Mine project is dead.

Announcement June 17

The Joint Review Panel for the Grassy Mountain project has completed its review and submitted its final report to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada on June 17.

The panel, in its capacity as a hearing panel for the Alberta Energy Regulator, found the project is not in the public interest and has denied the provincial applications.

Here is the final report submitted to the Joint Review Panel.

This victory was only possible because of you!

This is a time to celebrate. Thank you for all you’ve done to build an Alberta Beyond Coal – ordering lawn signs, sending letters, and talking to family, friends and your communities.

However, the work to protect our Eastern Slopes is not over. There are still 7 coal projects able to move ahead in the Rockies.
